Corsi & Fenwick
In hockey, you can't score without the puck. Corsi is simply a proxy for possession.
Corsi For (CF): All shot attempts for (Goals + Saves + Misses + Blocks).
Corsi Against (CA): All shot attempts against.
Corsi For Percentage (CF%): CF / (CF + CA). A CF% above 50% means the team controls the puck more often than not.
Fenwick is the exact same formula, but it excludes blocked shots, treating blocks as a repeatable defensive skill rather than a possession metric.
